343 Industries delays Halo Xbox 360 server closure to January

By Sean Carey,

Developer 343 Industries has pushed back the server closure of several Xbox 360 Halo titles. Originally, servers were due to be sunset in December this year, but this has now been delayed until January 13th, 2022.

As previously announced, 343 Industries had planned to sunset servers for Halo: Reach, Halo 4, Halo 3, Halo 3: ODST, Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary, Halo: Spartan Assault (Xbox 360), and Halo Wars on December 18th, with services either reduced or disabled in certain games after that date. Now, this has all been pushed back to January 13th, 2022, which gives you a bit more time to play through these games and unlock their achievements before some are discontinued.

Where achievements are concerned, Halo: Reach, Halo 4, and Halo 3 are the three games where you’ll need to focus your efforts, as numerous achievements that require online services in these titles will become discontinued. For more, be sure to check out the Halo Waypoint blog post about the sunsetting from last year.

343 Industries will close servers for legacy Xbox 360 Halo titles on January 13th, 2022.
