Minecraft “Caves & Cliffs: Part II” update drops on November 30th

By Kes Eylers-Stephenson,

For Minecraft alumni, this update has been waiting in the chest since June. The Caves & Cliffs: Part II major update is now just around the creepy, dank cave tunnel, Mojang revealed — primed to drop on November 30th.

What are we getting with this update? Well, there are no full patch notes as of yet — we will have to wait for the full release — but a post on Mojang’s website holds all the answers. Sofia Dankis, the creative writer at Mojang, details all the new bits and bobs we have to look forward to on November 30th.

“Part II gives the mountains and caves that you know and love a makeover. Updated terrain generation, higher peaks, more elaborate cave systems — even the ore veins are larger,” says Dankis. “This update also brings CANDLES for everyone.” However, not everything previously promised for the update is on the way: “You may have noticed that a few items were missing from the list of new stuff, namely archeology, bundles, and goat horns. […] While they won’t be in the Wild Update, they are going to come to Minecraft in the future when we’re able to add them in the best possible way. Until then, you have a bunch of mountains to climb and caves to dive into.”

This new Caves & Cliffs: Part II update for Minecraft: Bedrock Edition will be on  Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, iOS, Android, Windows 10, and Windows 11, as well as Java Edition on Windows, macOS, and Linux, on November 30th.

There is also some Disney-themed DLC for your blocky folk. Will you be playing then? Are you a Bedrocker or a Javaese player? Mine away at the comments!
